Do You Know What Your Trees Are Worth?
Today's landowners are often tree farmers, too, although they may not know it. That woodlot out back or the CRP acreage that you planted 10 or 15 years ago is a source of cash, either now or in a very few years to come. Do you know what it is worth? Perhaps even more importantly, do you know what it will be worth when you decide to retire or when that tuition check to State U. is due?
Here's how Fall Line Forestry can get the top dollar for you when the time comes to cut those trees:
1) You can't tell if an offer for your timber is good if you don't know what you're selling! We know what you have. We measure, categorize and value your timber.
2) We spell out in specific terms exactly how you want your timber harvested. Is this a clearcut? A select cut? Will you permit trucks to cross your fields in wet weather? Can they build roads? What about cleanup after the logging is completed? How long will the buyer have to cut your timber? Who is responsible for damages to your property?
3) We solicit sealed, lump-sum bids from as many potential buyers as possible. Using this method, you can be paid in full before any of your trees are cut. In a sealed bid sale, it is not uncommon for the high bid to be double or more the amount of the low bid. Our objective in all of this is to get you the top price for your timber from a reputable buyer, not a low-ball offer that comes in off the street. You stay in control of your land!
4) After you have accepted the best offer, we use a written contract to close the sale and to protect your interests and we supervise the harvest from start to finish.
